Since we are in Canada, I thought I'd start this off with the Canadian National Anthem!

Enjoy!

Continuing our trip, we motored to Picton on the 19th and spent the night on a mooring ball in the quiet harbor there.  We even enjoyed a swim!

The next day we had a weird ride to Trenton.  We hit a squall about 5 miles from Trenton.  Or more specifically, the squall hit us.  It was quick to leave, thank goodness and Cady Girl handled it with no problems.  A squall is a violent gust of wind or a localized storm bringing rain or sleet! We tracked the storm on radar and knew we would be clear on arrival at our destination.

We docked at the Trent Port Marina, a beautiful spot with lots of other loopers.  Surprisingly, we met a fellow looper whose mother's maiden name was Wigglesworth and some fun couples from Mississippi and New Orleans. We spent Monday cleaning Cady Girl inside and out had coffee at a great little spot called Sweets and Beats; then rode our bikes to the train station to meet Lisa and Don Hollwedel!  Yeah - some company!

Tuesday, we shopped and looked around the town.  Tried to catch a bus to the Canadian Air Force Museum but didn't have the greatest instructions as to where to meet the bus - so we never made it! Decided to have a drink at the Canadian Veteran's Hall - they let anyone in!  And then enjoyed the rest of the evening on the boat!

Wednesday, we entered the Trent Severn Waterway.  That route will deposit us in the Georgian Bay our most northern point.  This section is approximately 250 miles at 10 km/hour with about 44 locks.

We treated Lisa and Don to their first Lock experience!  They did great!  We went through 7 locks that day!  The Canadian Lock masters and crew are fantastic!  They come and chat with you and are so friendly - it makes the cruise a real treat!

We ended the day on the Dock at Glen Ross Ontario!  It was hot, so we all jumped in the canal and floated away the work of the day!  Watched some crazy kids jump off a bridge nearby into the canal (which is only 8' deep).

Thursday, we went through 4 more locks and docked at Old Mill Park in Campbellford.  Campbellford has several different attractions.  Among them, the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge trail through Ferris Park. The bridge is 30-feet above the gorge and has a great view of Ranney Falls. We walked the town, shopped, visited their renowned bakery in the morning.  Had a yummy Espresso Martini a B's Modern Caribbean restaurant the first night, so decided to eat dinner there the next night! It did not disappoint!

Off to more locks tomorrow!
